Intentional Living
Burning Bowl Service
Unity’s Burning Bowl Ceremony and Choosing Intentional Ways of Being Service
The Burning Bowl Ceremony is a sacred Unity tradition for releasing old patterns and aligning with our divine potential. It is a tool for spiritual renewal and transformation, inviting participants to step into the new year with clarity and intention.
Part 1: The Power of Releasing
Unity’s teaching is that our thoughts and feelings create our reality and that releasing limiting patterns is essential to align with divine truth. This symbolic act of burning is a ritual of purification and transformation.
The Process of Releasing:
You’re invited to reflect on old beliefs, regrets, habits, or fears that no longer serve you. Metaphorically, like clearing a garden for new planting and growth.Letting go creates space for divine inspiration and new possibilities. Take time and imagine placing your burdens, regrets, or limiting beliefs in writing and then into a burning flame, transforming them into light and energy.
Part 2: Choosing an Intentional Way of Being
Anchoring with Intention involves choosing an intentional way of being as we move forward—something that reflects our highest potential and spiritual essence. For example, choosing love, peace, compassion, courage, or forgiveness. The Power of a Single Word has transformative power to anchor us in our commitments and devotion. You’re Invited to reflect on one word that encapsulates your desired way of being in the world. Please close your eyes, breathe deeply, and allow your intentions word to emerge intuitively. Write it down or hold it in your heart as a touchstone for your new year journey.
Part 3: Integrating the Practice
Living Your Commitment:
These intentions can be woven into daily life as affirmations, prayers, or guiding lights. Practical suggestions include: journaling about the word, creating visual reminders, sharing it with a trusted friend or within your community for accountability.Spiritual Life
Affirmation:
“I release all that no longer serves me. I choose to live prayerfully, purposefully, with clarity, purpose, and love.”
Join with us and Rev Martha Creek as we affirm a new year with new intentions as we forge a new year, a new growth cycle.
